Bring your little ones to meet, play and learn outside with other families in our community!
About this event
BOC Families!
We are so excited to invite you and your little ones to BOC Kids: Fun in the Sun! BOC Kids, a program under Black Ottawa Connect, provides children in the Black community opportunities to learn, play and grow together. Black Ottawa Connect is a non-profit organization, wh foster connections to inspire growth and success within the Black community.
Kids of all ages welcome! We have some fun activities planned to welcome the sun and kick off the summer. Not only will you get to connect with other parents but your children will also have the chance to meet and play with other children in the community. During our fun day, kids will learn about the sun and the summer solstice while also conducting a fun science experiment! This will all be led by a phenomenal Black male educator, Edson Joachim.
For the experiment, your child will need to bring an empty cardboard shoe box (lid included) or a cardboard pizza box (lid included). We always remind you to dress for the weather (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses). Please note that parents are expected to stay for the duration of the event.
Help us plan appropriately by selecting the ticket type that corresponds with the ages of you children. If your child is 4, select Child: 3-5 years old. If you are bringing multiple children, please include each child in the ticket selection.
Can't wait to meet you and your littles!
